Last Thursday, we visited Awet Muda, located at Sungai Dua area, for lunch. Awet Muda sells Malay food. They have varieties of Malay dishes to choose from like assam fish, curry fish, ayam masak merah, mixed vege, fried chicken, fried mushrooms, soto and also different types of ikan panggang. You just have to pick what you like and pay at the counter. We had a satisfying lunch, but all of us smelled like BBQ as they "panggang" the fish and some seafood in front.

This was what I had (RM5.50, I think the fish is expensive). I know it is weird not to have rice. :P Anyway, I would really like to recommend the fried mushrooms. It's really good! |

Crowded scene in the shop |
How can a meal ends without a dessert? :D So, we went to U-Soya at Pekaka Square. It's Penang's famous stall specializing in soya milk and Tau Fu Fah, which are all homemade from organic soya beans. Whatever soya dessert you can think of, they have it. There's soya ice cream, Tau Fu Fah (soya custard), soya bean milk and so on. You can also opt for brown / white / ginger sugar.

As shown in the menu, they have a wide range of toppings to add onto your Tau Fu Fah. |

U-Soya Special Multi Grain Tau Fu Fah (with brown sugar syrup) @RM3.50 |
The U-Soya Special Multi Grain Tau Fu Fah was really nice. They also give generous amounts of the grains. YUMMY!!
