New Happy Cafe is located at Jalan Ang Cheng Ho, close to Madam Tang, Chicking Eating House and Kaya & Toast.
Exact Address: .
The cafe is operated by a Foochow family and of course, the foods they sell are all Foochow-based cuisine. The cafe is very packed during lunch break as there are many offices around. It's even crowded during weekends.
So, back to my brunch. This is one of our recent popular brunch or lunch spot as my friends like the food there especially Stir-Fried Zhao Cai Hong Ngan 炒糟菜粉干. It's a dish of thick rice vermicelli stir-fried with preserved vegetables. There's another soupy version which is called Zhao Cai Hong Ngan 糟菜粉干. Apart from this, they have Chao Zhu Mein, Mee Sua and so on. If not mistaken, each serving costs around RM4.00 to RM5.00. This is for the normal servings. They have another two versions which you can ask for added Fish or King Prawn. If not mistaken, added fish will cost RM12.00, but I'm not quite sure about the King Prawn. My friends always like to add another extra fried egg to their servings which costs RM1.00. For the drinks, you can try Chocolate Mint. It's Milo with peppermint. Quite nice.
This were what we had for the day:
Chao Zhu Mein 炒煮面 with Fish (RM12.00) |
Stir-Fried Zhao Cai Hong Ngan 炒糟菜粉干 with added Fried Egg (RM5.00) |
