Although I stayed around this area for about a month, I did not have the chance to try out all the good food there. There were really lots of cafes and we happened to step into Genting Cafe as Wen Yin recommended.

Mochi (RM2.00). Freshly made Mochi on the spot. Still warm when we had it. Too bad the quantity was considered little. |

Char Kway Teow (RM3.50). Nice! Bits of crispy pork lard was added. Stir-fried in generous amount of ingredients like eggs, chinese sausages, beansprouts, cockles and prawns, the taste was just wonderful. Could never get this in Kuching. I actually opt to be stir-fried in duck egg, but the cook seemed to forget. Never mind. It tasted great anyway. |

Penang Popiah (RM2.00). It was prepared on the spot with fresh and hot ingredients. Served in hot sauce which made it looked juicy. Was tempted to try as it was totally different from Kuching's version. Next time then. :) |
