Thailand Trip Day 1

Sorry folks.. It's been quite some time I did not updating my blog as I just went on a trip to Thailand! :D We went by AirAsia of cos as it's the cheapest airline available at the moment. One setback about it was that there is no direct flight from Kuching to Thailand, so we had to transit at LCCT. We took a very early morning flight to earn us more time in Thailand.
Trying out my new cam before taking good shots in Thailand. Hehe~
Waiting at the airport~
There was some delay in our flight as we were unable to land at Don Muang Airport due to the rain in Bangkok. We were supposed to reach earlier, but in the end, we were roughly an hour late. =.= Our tour guide (arranged by our travel agency in Kuching) and van driver were waiting anxiously for us and brought us to lunch immediately. Once we reached Bangkok town, we headed straight to the everywhere-to-be-seen 7-11 to get our prepaid card which costed us about 300 Baht. The one we purchased has a 7-days validity with 100 Baht credit and unlimited data. Right after our meal, we checked in to our hotel:

Done checking in, then off we go to SHOP!!! It was 400pm (500pm in Malaysia) and we only had 2.5 hours to shop. Had to rush back for our buffet dinner at Baiyoke Sky! :D
The crowded alley at B-Gallery. Lots of fashionable clothes at wholesale price! We were walking our way to Platinum Fashion Mall and next to Central World.
Apart from clothes, we also spotted lots of mouth-watering hawker foods. Too bad that we were in a hurry and had to empty our tummies for buffet later, we did not get any of these.

Platinum Fashion Mall where you could get very nice clothes as well but at a slightly higher rate.
With about 5 mins walk from Platinum Mall, we reached Central World. Just in front of the mall, people were seen praying:

Cam-whoring while waiting for the guys to do their shopping. :P
Rushing back to Baiyoke Sky Hotel with the "Tuk Tuk" Mototaxi, can't wait to enjoy the International Buffet at the highest building in Bangkok.
The buffet is served at the 77th floor (can feel the air pressure in the ears while taking the lift up). Look what I got for dinner!

There were more which I did not take any pic of like buns, pastas, dim sums, ice creams etc. After a very full dinner, we went up to the Revolving Roof Deck to get some spectacular night views of Bangkok.

Coming down to the lower floor, there were "TALL" ppl~~ Tadaa~

Getting a short rest back at our hotel, we came out again to do some sightseeing.
It was 10pm but the crowd was still there.
Despite we had a very full dinner, we just couldn't stop ourselves to try out some local street foods in Bangkok!
Thai Durians
Deep Fried Chicken Skin
Long Chicken Intestine (10 Baht)
Kebab
Pomegranate
Steam Bread with Different Flavors. We got ourselves the brown one which we thought shoud be brown sugar. But then, guess what.. It's not~~ Tasted some sort like sambal~ X.X
Grilled Beef, Chicken, Pork! (10 Baht each)
Ends our supper with some digesting dessert - Yogurt (16 Baht). So cheap!

Kuching Breakfast @ Choon Hui Cafe

Breakfast in Kuching can't run away from foods like Laksa, Kolo Mee, Kueh Chap etc. Brought my non-Kuching friends to Choon Hui Cafe, just next to Grand Continental Hotel.
Chicken Porridge.
Popiah. Yummy!!

Half-boiled eggs.
Roti with Kaya
Laksa. The laksa here is famous but expensive.

Best BBQ Chicken Wing @ Teh Tarik Kafeteria

I had mentioned before that one of the best BBQ chicken wings I had was at Matang. Now, the coffee shop is not available but relocated to the shoplot on the opposite side of the Matang Bridge of Kubah Ria. Along your way from town to Matang, Kubah Ria would be on your left, the shop lot would be on your right. Frequent road drivers will know about the place as the shop lot is located at the small roundabout when getting back to town from Matang.

Our orders from the BBQ stall:
BBQ Chicken Butts (RM1.00 per stick). Although marinaded with the same Chicken Wings Sauce, the taste didn't really coat well or infuse into it. I still the best I had was in Penang
BBQ Chicken Wings (RM2.50 per wing). So so delicious! Sweetly marinaded wings with tolerable spiciness. Even my friends who do not take spicy food also could not stop themselves from having this!
Apart from BBQ Chicken Wings and Butts, there are other varieties of Malay Cuisines like Laksa, Satay, Ayam Penyet etc.
Rojak India. Tasted just ok.
Mee Sapi. Worth trying. :)

Thai food @ A-Wet, 4th Mile

Sawadee Krap! :D
A-Wet Thai is a new arising place offering Thai dishes. Heard many good comments abt the foods, so, being as a food lover, I shall try! Driving your way to Boulevard, A-Wet Thai can be easily seen on the right before reaching Boulevard Mall at 4th Mile.

Reaching around 7pm. Crowded!
With some recommendations from the Tauke, we came about ordering 4 dishes.
Pineapple Fried Rice (RM10.00)
Red Tom Yam Seafood (RM20.00). Sour and spicy! Served similarly like what I used to have in Penang.
Cold Bidin with Sotong (RM10.00). Another sour and spicy dish! Tasted great. Loves the fresh Sotong.
Som Tham with Squid (RM15.00).  Green Papaya Salad with fresh squids and topped with peanuts. Guess what? It's also sour and spicy. LOL!
I conclude that we had sour and spicy Thai dishes for the night and every dish came with squids~~ My parents blame me for putting their cholesterol levels at risk. HAHA!
