Dessert Paradise

After dinner at Peach Garden, we immediately went for desserts at Dessert Paradise. Initially, it was situated facing the road, but now, it has relocated to the back lane.
Summer Mango with Ice Cream (RM6.80).
火龙吐珠 Dragon Fruit with Lemon Jelly and Ice Cream (RM6.80).

Simple Meal @ Peach Garden 桃园

Peach Garden 桃园 is one of the most popular coffee shops in Jalan Song years back. We seldom dine in here as we have no clue what is good here except from Ah Ping Chicken Wings. As we were planning to have some desserts at Dessert Paradise, which is a few steps away, we headed here to try out some local hawker dishes.
Char Bee Hoon (RM5.50). Saw quite some number of people ordering from this stall, but apparently, my mum said it was not up to her expectation.
Chicken Chop with Garlic Rice (RM5.50). Got this from the Nasi Lemak stall. Tasted quite ok for me, but I did not like the rice due to the fried garlic flakes (I'm not a fan of garlic). The dish should come with a Sunny Side-up egg, but I changed it with Coleslaw.
I did not take any photos of the Bak Kut Teh (RM8.00). Tasted quite good as the herbal taste was rather strong.

Best Cendol in Kuching!

Situated along the roadside opposite the Waterfront, there's an old operating stall selling very very nice Ice Kacang Cendol. Only available in the afternoon, it is quite difficult to enjoy this delicious bowl of dessert as they may not open for business due to some reasons like selling durians. To enjoy this, be prepared to stand while you eat. Hehe~
Ice Kacang and Cendol (RM2.00). What makes it different from the rest? Their homemade Cendol is the kick! It's so chewy! Topped with flavorful Santan and sweet palm sugar, served with soft red beans, the dessert is something we purposely head down town for!

Chiak Ho Liao 吃好料

Chiak Ho Liao means eating good food or done eating in Hokkien. At first, I tot the latter was the meaning, but refering to the Chinese name 吃好料, it means eating good food. This new coffee shop at Stutong serves Black Vinegar Kolo Mee and there were lots of hearty congratulations advertised in the newspaper since their opening. As such, we made our first visit to this shop at Stutong, together with the same shoplot as the famous Coffee Talk.
As this is a new place, the shop was so crowded and packed. We eventually waited for abt 40mins for our noodles. =.=
Black Vinegar Kolo Mee. It looks dry at first, but the sauce was hidden below and you have to mix it. Tasted quite alright at first, but it was getting too sour when I almost finish my bowl of noodles.
Fish Balls Soup.
Costed RM13 for a bowl of Fish Balls Soup and 3 bowls of Black Vinegar Kolo Mee. Reasonable price, but I don thk it was worth our wait.

Raya Dessert

Hari Raya open house is about feasting with lots of delicious Malay cuisines like Rendang, Masak Hitam etc., not to be missed is their rich and moist Kek Lapis. After all the high calorie food intake for the day, we ended with Pullman Cakes again! LOL!
Peach Shortcake.
No clue what was this called. But I did not like it. My friend eventually said that it tasted like smoke. LOL!
This was very good! Very rich chocolate, unlike artificially flavored chocolate candies, with layers of cakes that blended well together.
My crazy buddies were so obsessed with the Peach Shortcake that they ordered the whole cake. We were all too full to touch any piece from here. >.<
