KL Food Hunt #11: Antipodean

After a light confectionary indulgence at Tong Kee, we are ready for brunch at Antipodean. Located at Bangsar Village where there's lots of good foods, the cafe is operated by an Australian if not mistaken.
Ice Cappucino (RM9).

Affogato (RM10). Ice cream on top of espresdo shot. Superb!
Hot Latte (RM9). Nice coffe art.
Hot Cappucino (RM10). Lovely~~ ♡♡
Here comes our main dishes! :p~
Big breakfast (RM20). Toast, bacon, mushrooms, scrambled eggs and hashbrown. Yummeh~

Big breakfast consisting of pork sausage instead of bacon.

Great breakfast to start our day!

Scrambled egg salmon on toast (RM20). I had this. So good! The gooey egg yolk melts in the mouth with each bite. Smoked salmon served on their special wheat toast complement so well. :)

A group photo after breakfast.

Went shopping at the new opened Nu Sentral Mall at KL Sentral. Lots of shops were still unoccupied thou.

KL Food Hunt #10: Tong Kee Food Corporation

2nd day in KL! Woke up not that early as most shops are not open so early here. Once done, the 1st stop we head to was to Tong Kee. Having claimed to produce one of th best egg tarts in Malaysia, we shall see then.
The place is not far from our stay.

Being as a bakery store, they do not sell only egg tarts thou. Lots of confectionary products.

Cheese cake. Yummeh~ Being served cool, the melt-in-the mouth texture along with the good ol cheesy taste~~ missed this!

They have 2 types of egg tarts served. This is the Portugese Egg Tart.
While this is the Butter Egg Tart which I prefer. It would be better if served hot. Love the wobbly egg custard.
Well.. My personal verdict is that Kuching's Chong Chon Biscuit Maker's egg tarts are still the best. :D

KL Food Hunt #9: Restoran Boston Baru, Klang

Wanted to have a light snack at Caffe Bene in the afternoon cos we were preparing to have seafood at night. Being invited by Ivy's friends to Boston restaurant at Klang, William had to drive about 2 hours from town due to the long distance and of cos, TRAFFIC JAM~~
Here's the place. Got there about 930pm. You could see tables of people sitting outside. Dining in a group of 14 including us, we shall just allow the locals to take the orders. Waited approximately 1 hr for our dishes to arrive. And that's a very usual thg to experience for diners here. I did not manage to capture all the photos of the dishes thou. Here are some of those we had:

Salted Butter Deep-fried Prawn Paste (Hae Kor). First time having Hae Kor and it tasted so heavenly good. Awesome!!

KL style Hokkien Mee to stuff up our tummies. Delicious too!

Steamed Lala with Ginger and Wine. Love this!!! First, the Lala was so fresh. Accompanied with the slightly spicy steamed soup with strong aroma of wine, I just lost count how much I had!

Fragrant Fried Rice.

Sizzling Tofu with Chicken Pieces. Good dish as well.

A satisfied and full tummy yields a happy man! Forgetting the cost of our meal, but it is quite cheap as remembered. Quite shock with the price for the good foods and portions.

KL Food Hunt #8: Caffe Bene, Sunway Pyramid

Reached KL in the afternoon, loaded our stuffs in the hotel and went to William's condo to place our rented car thr for collection the next morning. After that, all of us fitted into William's car comfortably to get to Sunway Pyramid. Wanting something not that heavy, we tried out Caffe Bene's desserts. They serve Korean style shaved ice or also known as Bingsu. Letting the familiars took the order.
Tada!

Chocolate Devil Bingsu (RM28.80)
Tiramisu Waffle (RM15).

Cookies and Cream Bingsu - small (RM12.90).

Really enjoyed the desserts here. Forgot to mention- the Chocolate Devil might seem to be expensive, but it really came in the large size and was so huge. Nevertheless,  we finished everything.. Hehe..

Penang Food Hunt #57: Bukit Mertajam Cup Rice 大山脚盖饭, Jalan Danby

It's a new day and we are ready to march on to KL. Woke up early in the morning to send Charles to the airport as he wanted to return to Kuching earlier. We headed back to the hotel to get some sleep first before we left. Done packing our luggage, it's time for brunch! We drove straight to Bukit Mertajam for the delicious Cup Rice!
The very friendly lady owner allowing us to take photos of her preparing the dishes.
Saw the rice in bowls steaming inside?

This is why it's called cup rice.

Meats!

Lots of chunky pieces of chicken, roasted pork, bbq pork etc.

Finally, meal is ready to be served with the gravy flooding the rice and meat!

Doesn't it look so good?? Tasted so good too!!

Penang Food Hunt #56: Humble Beginnings, Straits Quay

According to the western culture, a meal is best ended with desserts. Despite the fact we were terribly full after dinner,  that did not stop us from pursuing our desserts at Humble Beginnings. We got there late, so left with not much choices. Ordered whatever that were available then.
Chocolate Velvet (RM9.90)
Peanut Butter Blueberry (RM9.90)
Pandan Kaya (RM9.90)
Almond Bitter Cheese (RM8.90). Got ourselves slice of cake as well. Seems like the cake taste better than crepes. Hehe...
Cookies and Cream (RM9.90)
After tasting famous mille crepes from both Melaka's and Penang's,  all claimed that Nadeje's mille crepes were better. In terms of texture and taste, the crepes layers of Nadeje's were softer and smoother,  with each layers attaching even being cut.  While crepes here would detach when we sliced them.

Penang Food Hunt #55: Lebuh Presgrave

Hey there.. Excited about what's for dinner? We decided to go for Hokkien Mee for the night. Having 2 options in mind, Old Green House amd 888, we opt for the later as it was nearer to our hotel.
One of the specialty here is the huge bowl of Ice Kacang.

Yummeh Wanton Noodles is a must-try too!

Lor Mee

Hokkien Mee

Mix of Lor Mee and Hokkien Mee.

Well. Some prefer Hokkien Mee, but some prefer Lor Mee's taste.

Mee Sotong Goreng from Hameed. Spicy yet can't help stopping from eating.

Must get yourself at least a glass of Coconut Milkshake next door. Delicious and refreshing!

Big boys having fun at the playground after a superb meal.  😅
