Melaka Food Hunt #8: Capitol Satay Celup

Initially planned to go to Menara Taming Sari to enjoy the view of Melaka up ahead in the sky, but when we came across Capitol Satay Celup, we eventually spotted people started queing. I tot it stated that business starts at 5pm?? Seemed like it started earlier. Probably cos it's on weekend. So, to avoid longer queues later in the evening, we hopped down and follow the trend since we already planned to have it later.

Look at the queue! We were quite up ahead thou.
Looking at how people enjoy their meal.
I must say it was very very hot and sweaty evening.
After a long wait of 1 hr despite that we were quite ahead of the queue, we finally got a spot.

All the foods we could enjoy for just RM1 each.
Some of what we took.
Preparing the satay sauce for us. Adding all their special ingredients to yield a very rich satay sauce. They add the sauce from time to time when it is running out.

Dipping our foods into the prepared satay sauce. It's like having steamboat in satay sauce instead of the normal broth we usually have.
Frankly speaking, we all think that Kuching's Lok-Lok tasted much better and there's no need to wait.

Guo Guo Xiang BBQ Steamboat

Another deal, but it's not from Groupon anymore. Bought this deal from Supermain. The buffet at Guo Guo Xiang BBQ Steamboat was supposed to be priced at RM28/person. With the deal of RM88 for 4 persons, we get to enjoy their fresh and quality buffet at RM22/person.
Introducing the new style of BBQ & Steamboat. BBQ plate on top of the soup. Can have 2 choices of soups each time. They have Tom Yam, Chicken, Zhao Cai and Laksa Soups for selection. We opt for Chicken and Laksa Soups.

Ice Creams to end the meal later :D
Free flow of drinks available.
They also served some home-cook dishes.
Fresh vegetables
Seafoods, Fish Cakes etc.
A variety of beef, lamb and chicken marinated with sauces like curry, their special Guo Guo Xiang Sauce, Western and also Original Flavor. Personally loved their homemade marinade recipe.
See the grilling in process. Slurpsss~~

CNY Day 2

Continuing on my KL vacation during CNY~
As usual, we woke up for breakfast at our hotel then headed for shopping and shopping just can't go far from Bukit Bintang Area.
Happy Chinese New Year!!
Our 1st stop was H&M. Then, we had lunch at Lot 10 Hutong.
Tempted by the awesome looking Moonlight Koay Teow (RM9.90) from Kim Lian Kee, we did not hesitate to give it a try. Not bad la~ Be sure to queue up for some time although they were quite fast in cooking.
Off to Pavilion again after lunch.

Some lion dance performances were going on and it's so crowded. They said that KL is very quiet during CNY, but it's not true from what I experienced thou.
Desserts is something not to be missed. 许留山 Hui Lau Shan is my spot for dessert-tasting. It's claimed to be a popular dessert franchise in Hong Kong especially for their mango desserts. We had to queue before being seated. Then, we were being given the menu to choose what we want and mark on their menu list. After checking and making sure our orders were correct, we waited patiently for our desserts!! :P~

Herbal Jelly with Apple in Osmanthus Jelly (RM4.90). Not my liking. Kinda bitter.

To try on the various desserts available, we went for the 3 Courses Mix & Match (RM12.90)

From the 9 choices thr, we'd chosen Mini Mango Coconut, Mango Chewy Ball and Mini Mango Crisp.
Mango Crisp. Icy chewed cake crisp with mangoes embedded. Delicious!!
Mango Chewy Ball. Iced cool mango dessert with mango pieces and chewy glutinous-tasting balls. Refreshing!
Mango Coconut. Mango Ice Cream topped together with mango pieces and coconut strips.
Time to cash out~
Look at the Q
Some more CNY decorations!

Long day of shopping must be ended with a great dinner before getting back to hotel. :D
Off we went to the famous Bar-BQ Plaza, located at Sungai Wang Plaza. Our order was easy. Just got ourselves the Family Set and that's it.

Ready for some Korean BBQ folks~
Given with pork lard which I insisted not wanting to use it. :P
Seasonings
Garlic Rice or White Rice to go along.
So here came our sets.
Seafood, mushrooms, squids, chicken slices, avocado, udon and of cos lots of cabbages which we cooked them in the water-filled side of the grilling plate.
Another plate of meat - beef, lamb and pork to really grill on. Given with lots of veges as well.
Great dinner for just RM78.20 including green teas and coke for drinks, towel and taxes!!

Korea Trip Day 6

As usual, the 1st thg we did every morning was to have breakfast. Another buffet style breakfast.
Came across the parking facility there. Very space-saving idea.
Heavy breakfast!
1st Destination: Woongjing PlayDoci 熊津广场
Our 1st stop was Woongjing PlayDoci or actually the main attraction was SnowDoci, having the indoor skiing facilities there. We were brought there and queued with many tourists and locals to play the Snow Tubing. It was exciting. If it wasn't cos of the long queue, I might go for another ride.

There were lots of cute kinder-garden kids learning to ski!
Angelic me.. :P
Another attraction in the mall located at the ground floor - 3D Arts!

Outside the mall
Finally got the Tomato Juice recommended. Not my liking. Very tomato taste and sweet. Maybe cos I don really like tomato.
Very cool above-the-head golfing facility. COOL!
2nd Destination: 首尔海苔博物馆
3rd Destination: 紫水晶加工场
Our 2nd and 3rd destinations led us to the local tourist workshops, persuading us to buy their local products. Then, it's lunch time!

宫廷料理 back at J&J Dragon.

4th Destination: Hongdae Shopping Street 弘大购物街
In the afternoon, off we went for shopping at Hongdae Shopping Street and also to visit the "infamous" Hello Kitty Cafe.
Hello Kitty Cafe, located inside one of the alley.
Crowded. Taking turns to take orders.
All very pinkish decorated.

Finally got my order. Green Tea Latte.

Done with the photo-shooting in the cafe and a hot warm latte, we headed back to the street.

Bongeobbang. Red bean paste inside the fish-shaped bread. I like this as the bread was crispy and the paste was hot, sweet and fresh, nicely embedded!

STREET FOODS!! Egg breads. The egg yolk looks so good. Runny egg yolk on top of the pan-fried dough.

With our tour guide and tour leader.

5th Destination: Myeongdong Street 明洞服装
We were finally taken to the very famous shopping street especially for cosmetics. Given 3.5 hours of shopping time here, we still think it was not quite enough.

Huge malls with very nice Christmas decorations.

Another street food we enjoyed. Korean Sausages. Different flavors and varieties, some were wrapped in bacon, stuffed with rice cake etc.
Done with shopping and eating, steamboat for dinner!
Mushroom Steamboat Buffet. Yummy!
Ice Cream again! Good! Green-tea flavored.
Another one! Just normal cone ice cream.
