Family dinner @ Tomoe Japanese Restaurant, Jalan Mendu

Tomoe Japanese Restaurant is tucked away from the busy main road along Jalan Mendu, close to Chung Hua School No.5. Had been here for quite some time, but never introduce before. Brought my parents here for the first time and enjoyed ordering what I like. :)
Salmon Sashimi - 8 pcs (RM24). Hardly missed when I go for Japanese food. Very fresh and really thick slices.
Mix Sushi -Special (RM32.90). A mix of different sushis.
Unagi Maki (RM15).
Yakitori Shio/Teriyaki (RM5). Very nicely grilled.
Okonomiyaki (RM14).  Japanese pizza laden with chopped cabbage, shredded seaweed, bonito flakes and so on. At least my parents favor this dish over Ten Ichi's and Sushi Zanmai's.

Celebration with Japanese Food @ Ten Ichi Japanese Restaurant

Well~ We had a secret celebration on going, so after some thoughts on where to dine, finally agreed by my parents to have Japanese Cuisine at Ten Ichi Japanese Restaurant, operated by Lok Thian Group.
Refillable Green Tea (RM2.80/person)
Sashimi Salmon (RM9/2 slices). Very fresh~
Niku Tataki (RM20). Japanese cooking style of beef~ This dish was very delicious. The beef slices were tender and tastily cooked in the soya sauce.
Ten Ichi Ramen (RM18). Dad had this. Served hot and I think it tasted ok.
Hiyashi Chuka (RM16). I recommended this dish to my mum but she did not like it cos the noodles were served cold. Exchanged with my dad in the end. Haha~ I like it thou. Very appetizing.
Avocado Unagi Maki (RM14). This was really good!. The avocade went well together with the sweetened unagi, embedded in the sushi rice and seaweed roll. We enjoyed this alot.
Nabeyaki Udon (RM18). Tempted by the runny eggs, my udon soup was served hot with chicken chunks, Tempura and some other ingredients.
Chawan Mushi (RM7/cup). Just ok la.
Salmon Pizza (RM24). I'm always a fan of Okonomoyaki. Plus, they have salmon meat added for this dish, so I ordered one to try. Turned up that my parents disliked it and I had to finish quite a lot. Still, I think Tomoe's version is the best so far for me.
Big Japanese feast!! Satisfied!! :D

Cheat meal @ Coffee Talk

I am into clean diet lately due to my workout plans. I am kinda obsessed with lean and trimmed abs, so had been going on strict workout meals to make my gym efforts unwasted. However, that's not everyday! How could a food lover like me stick to really clean food everyday?! Every week, I'm praying for the coming of weekends as I can eat whatever I crave for. People normally have a cheat meal per week, but I have 2 cheat days, not including parties or dinners I have to attend during weekdays. LOL!

Well~ It's not weekend today, but we just went straight to Coffee Talk for Kuching's nominated best pizza - Tom's Pizza and best burger - Pig's Barn, right after our gym session. Forget all about clean food and mumm mumm mumm! Honestly speaking, this was my first try despite all the great recommendations from people. Coffee Talk is located at Stutong, very near to our gym and we always passed by and I always wonder when will I make a visit here. Finally!

Hawaiian Pizza (RM20.00). With turkey hams, cheese and pineapples topped on the crispy oven-baked thin crust pizza. It definitely is the best thin crust pizza in Kuching. I would like more cheese thou. Maybe next time I will try the cheese pizza.

Black Devil (RM8.00). Chosen Pork Patty (mustard seared) instead of beef. Filled with Bacon, Cheese, Pickled Jalapeno, Gherkins, Horseradish Sauce, on Charcoal Bun.
Look at the delicious fillings. Tasted juicy and great. It would be even better if the buns were hot and crispy on the outside. George claimed that their Heart Attack burger is better as they embed it with crispy pork lard. Will try out that next time! :)
Matang's Honey Chicken Wings (RM2.50/wing). We did not expect much, but turned out to be quite good! Nicely BBQ sweet-tasting wings.

Penang Food Hunt #38 @ Nostalgie Cafe, Stewart Lane

Had some fine Italian food at Nostalgie Cafe for lunch! Slurps~~ Nostalgie Cafe, situated in the Heritage Zone, is a building preserving classical colonial architecture structures, matching its name which signifies nostalgia.

Nostalgie Cafe is well known for good pastas and pizzas and so we ordered a couple of dishes to be shared among 5 of us. :)
Iced Cappuccino (RM10) that looked so good. Not my drink~~ :P
Cheesy Garlic Bread (RM10). Toasted in parmesan and mozzarella cheese, I must say these were the best garlic bread I had ever!!
Artichoke & Beef Bacon Pizza (RM28). The thin-crust pizza was topped with tomato sauce, beef bacon, artichoke hearts and mozzarella cheese. Delicious!!

Aglio Olio (RM26). Another nice dish that could rarely go wrong as it's a simple dish of spaghetti tossed in garlic, chili, olives, cherry tomatoes and prawns.
Mix Mushroom Pizza (RM26). This is some sort of a "Vegetarian" Pizza as ingredients like button mushrooms, shitake, onions and capers were used together with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. This is nice too, but the meat-loving me preferred the Artichoke and Beef Bacon Pizza which tasted much more flavorful!

Carbonara Spaghetti (RM25). Deliciously cooked in parmesan cheese and egg which made up the carbonara sauce. The beef bacon and mushrooms added gave the dish a more delightful taste and flavor!!

Double Sensation Pizza!!

Pizza Hut just launched their new flavour: Double Sensation Pizza!! Everybody is crazy posting on this pizza in Instagram. So here I am to try! 2 pizza crusts found in 1 pizza! One is the  outermost Cheesy Lava Crust, with rich Parmesan , mozzarella and cheddar cheese-stuffed crust, giving the tasty cheesy flavour. The outer crust is topped with turkey ham, bell peppers, mushroom and salsa sauce. The other crust, which is the inner crust, is known as Cheesy Chicken Sausage Crust in which the crust is topped with smoked chicken, zucchini and pepper Alfredo sauce. Talking about it makes me drooling~~ =p~
So yummy!! I would say this is the best Pizza Hut's Pizza I have tried so far.

Domino's 7-Meat Wonder

Domino's Pizza introduced this 7-Meat Wonder for quite some time already and I finally got to try it. It was a long day as I had work to do in the office, so I had this pizza delivered home. It was 930pm back then. So is it dinner or supper?

Back to the pizza. It's really topped with lots of meaty stuffs comprising of chicken pepperoni, shredded chicken, roasted chicken, beef pepperoni, ground beef, beef sausage and chicken potpourri sausage. I had classic hand tossed as my pizza crust. Awesome! Meat lovers should try out as I really like it. :D

Groupon Offer @ US Pizza, Greenlane

Bought this Groupon voucher for RM19 which I could get a large 13" hand-tossed crust pizza and 4 pieces of garlic twist breads. I went with my friends as the offer was meant for 4 persons. Cheap, isn't it? There were 2 US Pizza outlets in Penang. We went to the one at Island Glades, Greenlane as it was nearer to our training center.
New York feel??
2 Indian kids enjoying their pizza. Say cheese~~ :) I was actually trying to snap a photo of the counter and the boy happened to look my way.
Garlic Twist Breads
Forgotten what we chose. Wonder was it Italian Way without beef pepperoni cos Wen Yin doesn't take beef. There were chicken pepperoni, chicken ham, onions, mushrooms, green peppers topped on the cheesy crust. Quite nice I would say.

DOMINO'S!!

Had been hearing about Domino's Pizza since a long time! Never try it until now. I was there with Kai Sing as they were offering the Buy 1 Free 1 promotion. We were there at 1130am, but then we were asked to wait for an hour as they had to prepare for the delivery orders. After waiting and waiting desperately, we finally got to place our order! But~~ Thru their website. It took us quite some time to order online via our iPhone. Should have told us earlier on so that we could do that during our LONG wait! =.=

Anyway, we had 2 regular pizzas. I chose a flavor and the other one was chosen by Kai Sing.
Our Pizzas! On the left we had Classic Hand Tossed Crust Pizza with Meat Mania as the topping and on the right was Tuna Temptation New York Crust Pizza. People who know me surely can tell which was my choice. Not going to reveal here~~ :D
Tuna Temptation New York Crust Pizza
A closer view. Look at the cheese~~ Yummy!!
Meat Mania Classic Hand Tossed Crust Pizza
A closer view. Lots and lots of meat~ Awesome!!
Both pizzas were great! I actually wish to order a spicy one, but Kai Sing said she did not want to have anything spicy. As for the crust, I prefer the Classic Hand Tossed Crust. New York Crust was thin and crunchy, but I prefer to have chewy dough texture. These 2 pizzas were way too much for 2 thin gals like us. 2 to 3 pieces were enough for me, but I forced myself to take another piece. Then, both of us took home 2 pieces. Should have call along another person ye~

Kuching should have DOMINO'S!!

GC lab

So, what is GC? GC is gas chromatography, a technique used to separate a mixture separated into its respective components. Too technical?? Haha.. :P Anyway, our training for the first 2 days were on GC. We also had lab session in which we had some hands-on experience on the machine.
This was where the high-tech instruments were placed.
Our Lab Building
That's about it for my training. Now, moving on to my foodie section. We had pizza for lunch at Pizza Hut. Ms Christy treated us the meal. Money saved. $$$ :D
Complimentary bread stick as what was in the set meal
Complimentary mushroom soup

Hawaiian Chicken (chosen by Wen Yin)
Tuna Sensation (chosen by Nabil)
Masala Supreme (I chose this)
I had a feeling that the pizzas served in Pizza Hut here were better than the ones in Kuching. :-/
This evening, I did not trouble Wan Ting to send me home. I moved into an aunty's place at Island Glades, which is quite near to my training center. Feeling so uneasy to trouble people all the times. :( Aunty was being very nice to me. She took me all the way to Gurney to fetch my stuff and also brought me for dinner at Karen's Kitchen that evening. This restaurant serves fusion cuisine. You can get western food or even hawker food.

Yee Mee (RM6.90). It was nice. The mee was very Q~~
Baked Shepherd Pie (RM15.90). Had to wait 20 mins for this.
Stuffed with chicken and potatoes, and baked with cheese on top. Tasted ok only.
