Fine dinner @ Ben's, Suria KLCC

After a long day at the BioMalaysia Exhibition 2012, we went for a satisfying dinner at Ben's, Suria KLCC just before we took a train to KL Sentral.
The outlook of the restaurant. Love the bicycle. So cute~~
Flipping through the handwritten menu, we finally decided on what to have.
Cold Potato Salad (RM25.90). I'm a POTATO FREAK! This salad was definitely my type.
A shot with my manager. :)
Here came our main dishes.
Pesto Spaghettini (RM18.90). The pesto spaghetti was served along with cheese and grilled chicken. This was my first try on pesto sauce. Unique taste. Quite like it. However, the chicken was a bit dry. It tasted good together when dip with the pesto sauce.

Actually Pesto Spaghettini was not my order. Hehe.. I had Mushroom Lasagna!
Mushroom Lasagna (RM18.90).
This was really DELICIOUS!! I always have beef lasagna, but never mushroom lasagna. Generous amount of mushroom were layered between the rich and fragrant cheese. I'm a CHEESE FREAK! :D

Sushisss~~

Had been to Sushi King numerous times, but I never really blog about the food..
Golden Ball - Deep fried egg with shredded crabstick and mayonnaise. Trying this for the first time. Quite nice thou.
Philadelphia Maki - Crabstick, cucumber and omelette sushi layered with cheese
Tsubukko - Fish roe Sushi
Salmon Carpaccio. I prefer no Mayonnaise added. Just fresh SALMONS will do. Should just order Salmon Sashimi.
Unagi Kabayaki - Grilled Eel.. YUMMY!
Mixed Bento - Rice garnished with bits of black sesame, accompanied with small amounts of seasoned Japanese radish, deep fried fish cake and  crabstick. The main focus of the dish was of course the broiled salmon and deep fried fish and deep fried chicken.

Food Tasting again at Sunshine Square Food Court

Tasting different food again in Sunshine Square Food Court! I ordered the Tai Lok Mee this time. Tai Lok Mee 大碌面 is also called Hokkien Stir Fried Noodles in which big noodles are stir fried in sweet black soy sauce. People in KL would call this Hokkien Mee 福建面. Never try to order this as Hokkien Mee in Penang as you will end up eating something really different. :) Kuching's Hokkien Mee also differs from Penang's and KL's versions. I guessed Hokkien Mee can mean a lot of things.

Closer view. Costs RM4.00/RM4.50 (Forgotten~ Hehe). Quite nice. Prawns and chicken meat were added to the slimy tasting mee and accompanied with sambal belacan.
Curry Fish Head (RM18.00). We also had this fragrant Curry Fish Head from the first stall. It was nice, but kind of pricey I think as not much fish were served.

Long awaited SUPPER! :D

Why do I say it's long awaited? It's not because I waited long to be served, but I had been longing to try this! I tried the famous Snowflake in KL and Blackball is a similar concept store that sells these Taiwanese desserts. They have a couple of signature desserts to choose from, but you can also opt to choose your own base and toppings. The dessert bases range from grass jelly, soya, winter melon and sweet corn, whereas for the toppings, you can have pearls, Nata de coco, green bean, red bean, taro balls, sweet potato, lotus seed, barley and many more. Apart from these, they also have drinks like pearl milk tea, smoothies, different milk teas, winter melon drinks etc.

After placing your order, you will be given a "UFO" device which will alarm you when your desserts are ready.
These were what we had. :D
BlackBall Combo Dessert (RM6.90). The combo dessert comes with grass jelly, sweet potato balls, yam balls, pearls and the combo you select. I went for Combo F in which barley and lotus seeds were served. I had ice soya as my dessert base. DELICIOUS!! You can have additional toppings added with extra charges.
BlackBall Signature (RM6.90), comprising of grass jelly, yam balls, sweet potato balls, Taro Q, pearls and red beans. The grass jelly was so chewy and all the other toppings compliment well with it.
Another Blackball Combo Dessert with Combo A and soya ice base. Combo A comes with sweetened taro and red beans.  I do not know how to describe, but the sweetened taro was really GOOD! Try out yourself!
There's no Blackball yet in Kuching, but there's a newly opened dessert store called ZenQ which serves similar desserts. Gonna try that during my next visit back home~

Lunchie + Meeting @ KLCC

After a short visit to some booths at the BioMalaysia Exhibition 2012, it's time for lunch.
Besides from my main dish (which I forgotten what mee was that.. Hehe), we also had some pastries.. FULL~~~~

Yum Yum! :D
Time to work to digest all the food taken! :)

Something Sweet for Breakfast @ McCafe, Penang International Airport

The best thing to do in the airport while waiting for a morning flight is to indulge in a good breakfast. :D Before we depart to KL for a business trip, we had a FATTENING breakfast at McCafe. I wanted to go for the McDonald's Breakfast Meal, but then the queue was too long, so we just pick some cakes and pastries from McCafe.
Iced Mocha, Blueberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Muffin. I had a bite of the chocolate muffin. It was damn nice! Hot chocolate was spilling out of the muffin when you "dissect" the muffin.
The Blueberry Cheesecake was GOOD~~ Fresh and sweet blueberries were embedded in the cheesecake, making the rich and cheesy dessert more appetizing. A layer of soft cookies is an added value to the cake!

A night at Sakae Sushi

Before I start blogging, please accept my apology for these low resolution photos. I had forgotten to bring my camera out, so I just used my iPhone cam. This was my first attempt to try out Sakae Sushi. A new store was just set up in the Spring, Kuching. I do not have the chance to set foot into the one in Kuching yet, so I might as well just try it in Penang. :)
Never fail to have salmon when I go for Japanese cuisine. :D I want more!!
We ordered a set meal which comes in Chawan Mushi, Miso Soup, Chicken and Salmon Teriyaki. Yummy!
Unagi Sushi just for mum.
Chicken Teriyaki Soba and Tempura Set.
BURP~~ FULL! :P

McDonald's Breakfast Day!

Yoohoo~~ Thanks to McDonald! I got a yummilicious breakfast of Egg Mcmuffin!
It's McDonald's Breakfast Day and they were giving out egg mcmuffins to the first 1000 customers in each outlet starting from 7am to 10am. I happened to come across the advertisement and went there around 8am to try my luck before I head to office.
So here I am and there's already a short queue outside Sunshine Square's McDonald.

After queuing for around 15 to 20 minutes, I finally got my free Egg McMuffin. :D And I'm already the no. 555 customer!! Cepatnya~
Can't wait to take a bite!
Fresh egg, a slice of chicken roll and cheese sandwiched in toasted English Muffin.
This was my first time having Egg McMuffin. :"> It was damn GOOD!! The Egg McMuffin was so flavorful with a thick slice of cheese and delicious chicken roll. The egg was well done. The egg yolk was slightly runny but it did not overflow and mess up the whole muffin. On the other hand, the egg white was well-cooked. I also do not know how did they manage to maintain the shape of the egg. YUMMY!!!!

1st Avenue Food Court

After some shopping at Prangin Mall and 1st Avenue Mall, we went to the Food Court at 1st Avenue for early dinner. My mum was so attracted to the ikan bakar there, so they ordered an ikan bakar set and curry bamboo clams.

Ikan Bakar Set. I can't remember the exact price, but I thk it was around RM7-9. Cheap, right? Tasted quite good, but not as good as what I had at Sungai Pinang Food Court

The bamboo clams were quite good too.

I also had egg tarts. They were from John King. Unfortunately, they do not look as tempting as what I see at Queensbay Mall. However, I decided to give it a try since it's so highly recommended. I had the original one (right) and durian flavor (left). Kinda disappointed~~ It's tasted kinda bland and it's COLD. :( I think I should try the one at Queensbay Mall next time.

Brunch @ New World Park Food Court

After a long walk from 1st Avenue Mall, we finally arrived at our destination for brunch. Had been reading from blogs about the New World Park Food Court, especially about the Ice Kacang. There are both good and bad comments about the place. So now, here I am to give it a try! :D
Rojak (RM5.00). Tasted quite good, but I prefer the one at Hou Mei Yuen 好味园
Normal Ice Kacang (RM2.50).
Ice Kacang with Ice Cream (RM3.50). I think that the Ice Kacang tasted just ok. Not up to my expectation.
O'Chien (forgotten about the price). Much better than the one I had in Gurney Drive Hawker Centre. >.< The egg part was just scrambled egg, but I really love the oysters in Penang O'Chien. So big and fresh! And a lot! as compared to Kuching's O'Chien.
Penang Char Kway Tiao (RM5.00). Quite pricey as the portion was not really big. Just like the usual Char Kway Tiao. Not up to my expectation as well as people always say all Penang's Char Kway Tiao taste good.
